Product Support Engineer (Work From Home)

Ephox is the company behind TinyMCE, the world's most popular rich text editor. TinyMCE is used in millions of websites and applications to create notes, write emails, publish blog posts and more. Ephox has been rolling out new products and services around the Tiny open source brand including TinyMCE Cloud.

As a member of our Client Services team, customers will look to you to be the expert that helps them implement their Ephox products including our TinyMCE and rich text editors.

This position requires someone with a combination of strong technical and communication skills. The ability to work with customers to ensure they are successful in their implementation and maintenance of our products is critical to success in this role. The Product Support Engineer has three main areas of responsibility:

Customer Retention

Ephox takes customer success and product support seriously. We provide top notch support to our customers and frequently hear that our support is some of the best in the software industry.

Our Product Support Engineers are an integral part of the customer success process - you are the voice of our customer within Ephox. You are the primary point of contact for our customers and help them address any technical issues they encounter in the use of our products.

Product Support Engineers work closely with our product development teams to ensure that issues are quickly and accurately resolved.

Product Evangelism

Evangelism comes from a Greek term that means “bringing the good news.” That’s what you will do in the role of product evangelist – you will bring the good news about how our products make people’s lives better!

TinyMCE is one of the most downloaded HTML rich text editors in the open source world. We have a very active community of developers who use TinyMCE in a wide array of solutions including WordPress, Blackboard, Joomla, and Episerver just to name a few. As a member of the Client Services team you will be an active participant in the community to ensure our products are properly implemented. Community activities include:

  • Participation in online technical forums (e.g. Stack Overflow and our own Community Forum)
  • Development of sample applications showcasing our products
  • Writing articles and tutorials for our blog
  • Creating and Improving our product documentation
  • Deliver webinars to help people understand the value our products provide

Customer Acquisition

As a Product Support Engineer you will work closely with our Sales team during the sales cycle to understand, size and scope customer requirements around the implementation and/or customization of our solutions. You will regularly participate in demonstrations (web and/or in person) as well as attend the occasional trade show.

Required Skills

  • Experience developing web applications using JavaScript along with a server side environment like PHP, Node, .NET, or Java.
  • Strong knowledge of core web development technologies such as CSS, HTML, and JavaScript
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Customer Service and problem-solving skills

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with one or more modern front end web frameworks like Vue, React or Angular
  • Experience deploying TinyMCE and/or CKEditor within web applications
  • Experience in delivering web and in-person presentations
  • Project Management skills


  • BS in Computer Science or equivalent work experience
  • 1+ years of experience creating web applications and/or providing software technical support 

Note:  This role includes 10-20% travel to locations in the US along with possible travel to Australia and/or Europe.
